Getting started
- Complete the Independent Behavioral Health Assessment (IBHA) and the Child and Adolescent Needs and Strength (CANS) tool for each youth. Submit these assessments from Magellan’s outcomes and assessments system, accessed from the Assessments tile in the Magellan of Nevada Payer Space in Availity Essentials. When you complete assessments, you share vital information that Magellan needs to provide essential care to youth and their caregiver(s).
- Obtain authorization for requested services before rendering care to a referred youth to avoid claims denials. Submit requests for authorizations from the Authorizations tile in the Magellan of Nevada Payer Space in Availity Essentials.
- Complete documentation of services to youth as soon as practicable to maintain accurate medical records. Upon completion of the IBHA and CANS, submit documentation to Magellan within 10-14 calendar days from the Assessments tile in the Magellan of Nevada Payer Space in Availity Essentials.
